Saskatoon Budget Increases – At a Glance
After gleaning through the Proposed 2010 Capital Budget and seeing the $45 million in new borrowing, I got to wondering what percent of Saskatoon’s budgeting was dedicated to servicing this debt on a yearly basis.
However, for a bit of context, here are the Capital and Operating Budgets going back to 2000:

The cumulative increases in the Capital and Operating Budgets. The Capital Budget has increased by over 180% between 2003 and 2010, while the Operating Budget has increased by 54% since 2001:

Finally, debt servicing appears as a line item in the yearly Operating Budgets. The percentage of the Operating Budget dedicated to debt servicing since 2001 is as follows:
